Meeting to commemorate the 36th anniversary of the founding of the 337th Division (July 1978 - July 2014)
(Baonghean.vn) - On July 25th, in Vinh City, the 337th Division held a meeting to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the division's participation in border defense combat in February 1979 and the 36th anniversary of the division's establishment (July 28th, 1978 - July 28th, 2014). Attending the meeting was Major General Nguyen Sy Hoi, Deputy Commander of Military Region IV.
Thirty-six years ago, on July 28, 1978, at Coi Market in Hung Loc commune, Vinh City, the 337th Division was established by decision of the Ministry of National Defense. The 337th Division was the predecessor of the National Defense Economic Group. During its construction and training, the Division carried out various tasks: preparing for international missions to assist Laos, fighting to protect the border in Lang Son, adjusting forces, and engaging in national defense economic activities. Particularly during the Southwest border war, throughout 15 years of fighting and construction in Lang Son, the 337th Division was honored by the Party Committee, government, and people of Lang Son with the name "Khanh Khe Group," as a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism. On December 31, 1994, by decision of the Ministry of National Defense, the 337th Division returned to Military Region 4 and was transformed into the 337th National Defense Economic Group.

Building on their glorious traditions, over the years, whether still in office, retired, or transferred to other sectors, the officers and soldiers of the division have strived to engage in many meaningful social activities, contributing to the development of their homeland and country.

| The joy of reunion |
The reunion was an opportunity for officers and soldiers of the 337th Division to meet their comrades, recall the division's traditions in building and defending the Fatherland, and inspire younger generations with the heroic fighting spirit of their forefathers in defending the Fatherland. At the same time, it was an occasion to pay tribute to and honor over 400 martyrs of the division, the majority of whom were sons and daughters of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces who bravely sacrificed their lives in the border war of February 1979.
Also at the meeting, veterans from all periods of the 337th Division donated 5 million VND to support the maritime and island program.
