Speaking ahead of the opening of the 10th BRICS Summit, Mr. Oreshkin stated: “We are ready to cooperate in many areas. The most recent summit with the US President showed that we are ready for cooperation and joint coordination in the future.”
Russia is also ready for international cooperation with other countries in any form, the official added.
The Russian Minister of Economy emphasized: “Russia's trade turnover with (BRICS member) countries has reached 100 billion USD. We are expanding and ready to cooperate, not only in trade relations but also in the fields of investment and finance.”
BRICS comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The aim of BRICS is to develop sustainable, practical and transparent dialogue and cooperation among countries.
The member countries also agreed that BRICS activities should be based on a non-confined internal foundation and not criticize third parties. Russia is the founder of this association.
One of the main goals of BRICS is to develop a global financial system, independent of current institutions, which are dependent on the US dollar.
One of the steps to achieve this goal is the establishment of the BRICS New Development Bank (NDB) and the BRICS Contingency Reserve Fund (CRA). This fund will be used in times of financial crisis./.
