Fishing boat engulfed in flames next to oil tanker.

(Baonghean.vn) - At approximately 1:30 PM on September 13th, a fishing boat docked next to two large oil tankers belonging to Tan Xuan Co., Ltd., Nghi Tan ward (Cua Lo town) caught fire violently.

Some fishermen on the boat tried to put out the fire but failed, so they risked their lives by jumping into the sea to escape. Due to the lack of firefighting equipment on site, the fire quickly intensified. Tan Xuan Co., Ltd. mobilized dozens of workers as well as local residents to the area to extinguish the fire.

Two oil tankers belonging to Tan Xuan Co., Ltd. had to drop anchor and head towards the open sea to prevent the fire from spreading. Upon receiving the report, the Cua Lo town fire department dispatched fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to extinguish the fire. Approximately 30 minutes later, the fire was brought under control and completely extinguished.

At the scene, a fishing boat belonging to a fisherman from Thanh Hoa province was completely burned. The other boat was charred and emitting thick smoke, lying about 1km away from the fuel depot.

The fire caused minor burns to Nguyen Van Quan (18 years old, residing in Nghi Tan ward, Cua Lo town), who had to be taken to Cua Lo Town General Hospital for emergency treatment. Currently, Cua Lo Town police are examining the scene, investigating the cause, and assessing the damage.
