Lao Cai City Police (Lao Cai) are detaining Nguyen Van Tuan (37 years old, residing in Duyen Hai ward, Lao Cai city) to investigate the act of property destruction.

According to the investigation, after the divorce, Ms. Ngo Thanh Ng (39 years old, working as a taxi driver in Lao Cai City) lived as husband and wife with Tuan (also a driver) and had 1 child together.

Because Ms. Ng’s job required her to deal with male customers, Tuan was often jealous. In October 2016, Tuan poured paint on the roof of Ms. Ng’s car.

Then, in January 2017, Tuan drained all the oil from Ms. Ng's car... At around 2:00 a.m. on May 31, Tuan bought gasoline, poured it into Ms. Ng's car and set it on fire, causing the car to burn fiercely. When the fire was brought under control, Ms. Ng's car had burned to the ground, leaving only the iron frame.
