Without the services of Coutinho, the star who is recovering from an injury and is on the verge of moving to Barca, Liverpool dominated Hoffenheim. The quartet of Sadio Mane, Can, Salah and Roberto Firmino continuously had a series of exchanges that caused chaos in the opponent's defense.
Mane did not score any goals but was the player with the most attacking instigation. The Senegalese star directly assisted the opening goal with a backheel for Can to finish, then indirectly opened the third goal with another backheel for Firmino to cross the ball across the 5m50 area (the finisher was still Can).
In between the German midfielder's two goals, new signing Salah contributed significantly to the victory with an accurate rebound from close range. This was also the Egyptian winger's second goal in just three games for Liverpool.
With superiority in both strength and mentality, the home team at Anfield continued to attack overwhelmingly for the rest of the match. In the 63rd minute, Firmino closed the rain of goals against Hoffenheim with a simple shot after a cross from captain Jordan Henderson.

Perhaps because of the early scoring, Liverpool sometimes appeared lax in defense. Hoffenheim took advantage of two opportunities to score two honor goals thanks to Mark Uth's cross shot and Sandro Wagner's header.
In the end, Liverpool won 6-3. Coach Klopp's team will be the fifth English team to qualify for the Champions League group stage this season after Chelsea, Tottenham, Man City and Man Utd.
