Scoring goals - a weakness of the Vietnam U23 team!
After a rather difficult opening match and numerous missed scoring opportunities against the Philippines U23 team, Vietnamese fans were hoping for a more promising performance from the Vietnam U23 team in their second match of Group B against the supposedly weaker Myanmar U23 team. However, the events of the 90 minutes at the Lebak Bulus Stadium did not live up to the expectations of the Vietnamese supporters.
(Baonghean)After a rather difficult opening match and numerous missed scoring opportunities against the Philippines U23 team, Vietnamese fans were hoping for a more promising performance from the Vietnam U23 team in their second match of Group B against the supposedly weaker Myanmar U23 team. However, the events of the 90 minutes at the Lebak Bulus Stadium did not live up to the expectations of the Vietnamese supporters.
Against a Myanmar team that played a tough, aggressive style, our players' technical skills were almost completely neutralized. Despite putting pressure on the opponent's half throughout the match, and even playing with a man advantage from the 59th minute, the Vietnam U23 team still failed to capitalize on their advantage.

In this match, the Myanmar U23 team displayed a completely different face compared to the Myanmar team that lost 5-0 to Vietnam U23 in the 2011 VFF Cup friendly tournament. They entered the game with a very high level of determination, playing a tight defensive style with quick counter-attacks that were very effective. Meanwhile, Vietnam U23's attacking options appeared quite monotonous and lacked variety against Myanmar's dense, multi-layered defense.
Vietnam U23's hopes, represented by Trong Hoang, Van Quyet, and Thanh Luong, failed to produce any game-changing moments. Coach Falko Goetz was forced to field all his available forwards in search of a goal, but his players failed to make any significant impact beyond weak shots against goalkeeper Thihatthu.
Drawing with U23 Myanmar was a disappointing result for U23 Vietnam. The opportunity to reach the semi-finals still belongs to U23 Vietnam, as they only have to face U23 East Timor, U23 Brunei, and U23 Laos in their remaining three matches. However, based on their performance in the last two games, the hope of winning a different colored medal at the SEA Games 26 seems rather distant!
It seems that the attack remains the weakest link for the Vietnam U23 team at the moment.
