Copyright price is equivalent to 3.5 billion VND/match
With the value of 10.3 million USD (about 227 billion VND) for the copyright of 64 World Cup matches that VTV negotiated, the average price of each match at the 2018 World Cup is equivalent to 160,000 USD (about 3.5 billion VND).

This number is calculated by experts to be still quite cheap compared to the record advertising revenue that VTV set at the 2014 World Cup and the semi-finals and finals of the U-23 Asian Cup with the Vietnamese team participating.
Accordingly, the quarter-finals, semi-finals and third place matches of the 2014 World Cup are 250-300 million VND per 30-second block.
For the 2014 World Cup final, a 15-second block is 270 million VND, and a 30-second block is 350 million VND. And for the U-23 Asia final between Vietnam and Uzbekistan, it is 300 million VND for a 30-second block.
