Domestic coffee prices are at record highs during the harvest season, causing coffee theft to increase. Recently, many places have recorded cases of coffee theft by farmers, more worryingly in Gia Lai, some thieves have even destroyed coffee gardens by cutting down trees and breaking branches, causing long-term damage.

In Dak Nong, coffee theft occurs every year, this year with the high price of coffee, people are even more worried. In this situation, local police have deployed many measures to protect coffee for people.

Police in districts and cities have developed plans to strengthen security and order during the coffee harvest season, focusing on propaganda and raising people's awareness of crime prevention.

In many ways, the police force has warned people about theft methods to increase vigilance. The police also strictly manage temporary residence and temporary absence, especially with freelance workers from other places who come to pick coffee for hire.

The police have been propagandizing and asking agents and agricultural product purchasing points to sign a commitment not to buy coffee of unknown origin. Communes, wards and towns have also set up agricultural product protection teams and patrol teams to operate regularly to protect people's property.

Coffee exports from Vietnam are slowing, making global coffee supplies tighter and contributing to higher prices. In addition, recent weather in both Brazil and Vietnam has also raised concerns about the upcoming harvests in both countries.

Brazil exported 4.57 million 60-kg bags of green coffee beans in October 2024, a record monthly figure. However, Brazilian coffee producers are expected to slow sales in the coming period as they await more precise information on the size of the new crop, with the first reliable forecasts due in February or March next year.

Investors are also waiting for a clear signal from Mr. Trump’s policies after he declared victory in the US presidential election. This could cause capital to flow into exchanges, including the coffee market, and create momentum for price increases this week.

Another important factor that could have a big impact on coffee prices next week is the EU's decision on November 13-14 on the implementation date of the European Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
