World coffee prices today
At the end of the most recent trading session, the price of Robusta coffee in London for November 2024 delivery increased by 6 USD/ton, at 4,779 USD/ton, and for January 2025 delivery increased by 20 USD/ton, at 4,719 USD/ton.
Arabica coffee prices for December 2024 delivery increased by 1.55 cents/lb to 283.35 cents/lb, and for March 2025 delivery increased by 1.75 cents/lb to 285.05 cents/lb.
The Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa) said that for the first time in 30 years, Vietnamese coffee prices have become the most expensive in the world. At times, Robusta coffee prices even surpassed Arabica coffee prices. During this crop year, coffee prices on the London exchange also surpassed the threshold of 5,000 USD/ton for the first time.
The 2023-2024 crop year is considered a "miracle crop year" for the Vietnamese coffee industry, with export output of less than 1.5 million tons but export turnover reaching over 5 billion USD. Coffee prices are high, recording many records in price and export, and Vietnamese coffee is increasingly important in the world market.
The main reason for this success is that farmers produce quality coffee in sufficient quantities, helping to maintain high prices. However, entering the 2024-2025 crop year, coffee prices have continuously decreased, making it difficult to consume coffee in growing areas.
However, coffee prices are expected to remain high in the 2024-2025 crop year, as output is expected to decrease by about 15% compared to the previous crop year. The agricultural sector forecasts that coffee exports this year will reach the target of over 5 billion USD.
