Domestic coffee prices today, May 6, 2025, in the Central Highlands region continued to decrease sharply compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 128,200 - 128,700 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are purchasing coffee at the highest price of 128,700 VND/kg. A sharp decrease of 1,300 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

In Lam Dong province, coffee prices decreased by VND800/kg and reached VND128,200/kg.

In Vietnam, jackfruit coffee, also known as Liberica or Exelsa, is causing a stir when it reached a record price of VND23,000/kg after the harvest ended in early May. This is a big turning point, because a few years ago this type of coffee was only half the price of Arabica, mainly used for instant coffee.
Expert Nguyen Tan Vinh explained that thanks to the application of Arabica coffee processing methods, jackfruit coffee has created a new flavor, easy to enjoy and is favored by coffee connoisseurs. Limited production has pushed the price even higher.
Currently, jackfruit coffee is mainly grown in Quang Tri. Previously, farmers planted the tree to preserve soil and shade Arabica because it was tall, had few pests and did not require much care. But now, those very characteristics give this type of coffee the potential to thrive in the context of increasing demand.

Amid global trade tensions and the threat of rising tariffs, European consumers are worried about the cost of living, especially when it comes to morning drinks like coffee, tea and cocoa. These are staples in kitchens, cafes and restaurants. As prices rise, the impact spreads from households to the service industry.
Since early 2025, the wave of price increases has caused many people to start adjusting their daily consumption habits. Among them, coffee has emerged as the most clearly affected commodity. The main cause is climate change in major producing countries such as Brazil and Vietnam.
According to Eurostat, in the first quarter of 2025 alone, the prices of coffee, tea and cocoa in the EU increased by an average of 5.26%. Coffee alone increased by 1.81% from February to March, and by 11.46% compared to the same period last year, showing that the upward trend has not stopped.
