As soon as he heard two strangers calling themselves "street knights" offering to help take him home safely, the young man trusted them and handed over his motorbike, but unexpectedly it was robbed.

On May 23, District 9 Police, Ho Chi Minh City, are temporarily detaining Nguyen Thanh Long (25 years old, residing in An Phu Ward, District 2) to investigate and clarify the act of "robbery". At the same time, the Investigation Police are also hunting for a subject named Phat, Long's accomplice who is currently on the run.

Nguyen Thanh Long, the subject and his accomplices pretended to be "knights" and robbed passersby.

According to the initial investigation results, at around 3:00 a.m. on May 20, after having fun with friends in the Western quarter on Bui Vien, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Phan Huy Thanh (24 years old) drove an AirBlade scooter home in Thu Duc District. However, due to being drunk, when he reached the parallel road of Hanoi Highway (through An Phu Ward, District 2), Thanh stopped his motorbike on the side of the road to rest.

At this time, two young men riding a motorbike (later identified as Long and Phat) approached. Both claimed to be “street knights”, appeared eager, worried about his safety and volunteered to take Mr. Thanh home. Because he had a good impression of the image of “street knights” who were willing to sacrifice their lives to confront criminals and protect the people, Mr. Thanh did not hesitate to hand over his motorbike to the “knights” to take him home.

However, when they arrived at the sparsely populated area behind the Dormitory of the Central Kindergarten College 3 (Phuoc Long B Ward, District 9), the two “knights” revealed their true colors as robbers when they punched and kicked, restrained Mr. Thanh, then stole his motorbike and escaped. The victim then went to the ward police station to report the incident.

Determining the seriousness of the robbery, which caused a bad reputation for the true knights, the commander of the Criminal Police Team of District 9 Police urgently began the investigation. On May 22, the detectives arrested Long and the vehicle he had robbed from the victim, which he had hidden in an apartment building in District 4, Ho Chi Minh City.

The case is currently under further investigation by the police./.
