Nghe An family lives in a wooden house in the middle of a 1,000 m2 rose garden
Every morning when Mr. Tao and his wife and their little daughter open the window, they see roses blooming and carp swimming happily in the lake.
Originally from Nghe An, Dang Ngoc Tao came to Da Lat to study and work. In 2012, he decided to build two large gardens to provide roses and ornamental plants to people in need. Since then, he has started building a wooden house and living in his own garden.
Three years ago, Mr. Tao got married and has a 20-month-old daughter. He named the garden after his daughter's nickname, Berry.
The small family lives in a two-storey wooden house located in Berry Garden. The house has a ground area of 50 m2, bearing the architectural features of traditional houses of Da Lat people. Mr. Tao traveled to many places, searched online to learn more so that the construction would be easy, cost-saving and create a unique feature for the house.
The interior is simply designed with pine wood treated to be waterproof. The kitchen area is tiled, making it easy to keep clean.
Having worked in many different environments, Mr. Tao has gained a lot of experience, so building houses and gardening is quite convenient. He and a few employees built wooden houses, dug fish ponds, and made paths in the campus.
According to Mr. Tao, building a wooden house is suitable for the weather in Da Lat. He also likes the old architecture, the rustic and warm feeling.
"I build a garden house to help myself find the image of my hometown and my childhood. When my children grow up, they will have many beautiful memories and find peace in life when they are always close to nature," Mr. Tao shared.
Although the cost of building a wooden house is not cheap, the young father is still determined to expand his living space. He pays attention to every detail in the garden house, such as the outdoor tea table and chairs made from natural tree trunks.
Currently, Mr. Tao makes small cabins from 5 to 30 m2for rent. He did not build a large house because he wanted to maximize the area for the garden.
Every morning when waking up, family members as well as guests who come to visit or stay overnight can see the green leaves and the brilliant colors of the flowers.
Because his family has young children living in the garden, Mr. Tao limits the use of chemicals. Instead, he and his staff diligently fertilize, water, and prune the plants regularly so that they bloom brilliantly.
