The Japanese Imperial Family Shares Many Stories About Vietnam
The Japanese Emperor and Empress and their children had many conversations about Vietnam before this State visit.

"The Japanese Imperial Family has had many talks between parents and children after the Crown PrinceNaruhito and his younger brother, PrinceAkishino visited Vietnam. They shared their memories of these visits," Hatsuhisa Takashima, Press Secretary of the Emperor and Special Assistant to the Japanese Foreign Minister, told a group of reporters in Hanoi this afternoon.
Mr. Takashima mentioned Crown Prince Naruhito's visit to Vietnam in 2009 and Prince Akishino's visit in 2012.
Prince Akishino donated a specimen of a long-tailed chicken to the Museum of Biology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, which also received a gift from Emperor Akihito, a specimen of a goby fish from the Can Tho River discovered and studied by the Emperor after the two countries normalized relations.Currently in the garden of the Japanese Imperial Palace, the Emperor and Empress keep two to three chickens.
Mr. Takashima said that in conversations between members of the Japanese Royal Family, their interest in Vietnam and desire to learn more about Vietnamese culture and history are increasing.
"I believe that after this visit to Vietnam, the Japanese King and Queen and their children will have many more stories to share," said Mr. Takashima.
