Export rice prices continue to increase again
According to the update of the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), Vietnam's export rice price continues to increase by 5 USD/ton for both 5% and 25% broken rice varieties.
After adjustment, 5% broken rice is now priced at 618-622 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 603-607 USD/ton.

While Vietnam's rice price increased, Thailand's supply decreased by 2 USD/ton for all 3 types of 5%, 25% and 100% broken rice. Accordingly, the country's 5% broken rice is currently at 600-604 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 544-548 USD/ton and 100% broken rice fluctuates at 457-461 USD/ton.
Pakistani rice prices are currently unchanged, with 5% broken rice at 598-602 USD/ton and 25% broken rice at 528-532 USD/ton. The price of 100% broken rice from this country was unexpectedly adjusted down by 10 USD, down to 493-497 USD/ton.
Thus, after adjustment, Vietnam's export rice price is currently 18 USD/ton higher than Thailand's and 20 USD/ton higher than Pakistan's.
While the export price of rice increased, there was no fluctuation in the domestic market. Accordingly, in An Giang, Long An sticky rice (dry) is still 9,100 - 9,200 VND/kg; fresh IR 50404 rice fluctuates between 7,600 - 7,800 VND/kg; fresh Dai Thom 8 is 7,800 - 8,100 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice fluctuates between 7,600 - 8,000 VND/kg; OM 18 rice is at 7,800 - 8,200 VND/kg; Japanese rice is stable at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen (dry) is 15,000 VND/kg.
USD price continues to soar
Today, the USD/VND exchange rate, the black market USD price, and the VCB USD price continue to soar. The world USD exchange rate has continuously increased.
The central USD/VND exchange rate announced by the State Bank remains unchanged compared to September 28, currently at 24,088 VND/USD.
Currently, the USD exchange rate that commercial banks are allowed to trade is from 23,400 - 25,242 VND/USD. The selling exchange rate is also adjusted by the State Bank Exchange to the buying and selling range of 23,400 - 25,242 VND/USD.

The USD exchange rate at banks and domestic foreign exchange rates this morning recorded a series of upward adjustments at banks. Specifically, Vietcombank increased the buying price by 20 VND to 24,220 and the selling price to 24,560. The buying and selling prices of USD are currently in the range of 23,400 - 25,300 VND/USD.
Japanese Yen Exchange Ratedownhill
Japanese Yen exchange rate surveyed on the morning of September 29, 2023 at banks, specifically as follows:
At Vietcombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate is 158.61 VND/JPY and the selling rate is 167.90 VND/JPY, down 0.25 VND and 0.27 VND respectively. At Vietinbank, the Yen exchange rate increased by 0.4 VND in both buying and selling, equivalent to 159.3 VND/JPY and 169 VND/JPY. At BIDV, the buying rate decreased by 0.21 VND and the selling rate decreased by 0.25 VND to 160.03 VND/JPY and 168.33 VND/JPY. At Agribank, the buying and selling rates are 160.87 VND/JPY and 164.86 VND/JPY, down 0.55 VND in both buying and selling.
At Eximbank, the buying and selling rates decreased by 0.38 VND at the buying rate, reaching 160.80 VND/JPY and decreased by 0.48 VND at the selling rate, reaching 165.28 VND/JPY. At Techcombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.16 VND at the buying rate and decreased by 0.14 VND at the selling rate, with the prices of 156.75 VND/JPY and 169.02 VND/JPY, respectively. At Sacombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.27 VND at the buying rate, corresponding to the price of 160.73 VND/JPY and decreased by 0.28 VND at the selling rate, corresponding to the price of 167.27 VND/JPY.
Thus, Agribank is the bank with the highest buying rate of Japanese Yen and at the same time Agribank is also the bank with the lowest selling rate among the surveyed banks.
Gold prices increased insignificantly
Today, the price of 9999, SJC, 24K, DOJI, PNJ gold increased slightly. Meanwhile, world gold reached the lowest level in the past 6 months.
