Gas price increased by 13,000 VND/12kg cylinder
After a slight increase in June, gas prices in July continued to increase to VND13,000/12kg cylinder. According to gas trading companies, this month's high increase was also affected by the recently announced increase in bank exchange rates.
Mr. Do Trung Thanh, Deputy Head of Gas Business Department of Saigon Petro said: “Since 7:30 a.m. on July 1, the retail price of SP gas has increased by VND1,083/kg (including VAT), equivalent to an increase of VND13,000/12kg cylinder compared to the price in early June 2013. The retail price to consumers in the HCMC area is VND378,000/12kg cylinder.”
Explaining the reason for this price increase, Mr. Do Trung Thanh said: “The reason for the increase is because the average CP price (world gas price - PV) announced in July 2013 was 792.5 USD/ton, an increase of 35 USD/ton compared to June, the purchase price increased and the announced bank exchange rate increased.”
