Gas price increased by nearly 10,000 VND/cylinder
On the afternoon of March 31, several gas companies in Ho Chi Minh City announced that retail gas prices to consumers from April 1 would increase by VND9,500 per 12kg cylinder compared to last month.
Mr. Tran Van Phuc, Head of Saigon Petro Gas Sales Department said: “Since April 1, SP gas price has increased by nearly 800 VND/kg (including VAT) equivalent to 9,500 VND/12kg cylinder compared to the current price. The maximum retail price to consumers in the Ho Chi Minh City area is 268,000 VND/12kg cylinder”.

Explaining the reason for the price increase, Mr. Phuc said that the CP price (world gas price - PV) in April 2016 was announced at 335 USD/ton, an increase of 30 USD/ton compared to March 2016.
Thus, after a rather deep price drop at the beginning of the year, gas prices have now shown signs of increasing again. Gas prices have increased for 2 consecutive months with a total increase of 11,000 VND/12kg cylinder.
