On the morning of July 27, Truong Thi Ward Police, Vinh City, said that the unit had handed over Tran Van Canh (born in 1982, residing in Xuan Truong Commune, Nghi Xuan District, Ha Tinh) and the evidence to Vinh City Police to clarify the act of Property Theft.
Previously, at around 1:30 p.m. on July 22, while on duty at the Festival Palace wedding center, the working group of Truong Thi Ward Police heard people shouting and chasing a subject who showed signs of theft. Immediately, the working group chased after the subject.
When arriving at Nguyen Son Street, Vinh Tan Ward, Vinh City, the police force controlled and arrested the subject. At the scene, the police force seized from the subject a blue handbag containing 18.5 million VND; 1,100 USD; 3 jewelry boxes including 4 gold necklaces, 1 bracelet, 2 necklaces, 11 rings, 2 pairs of earrings, 1 women's watch. The total value of the above assets is about 350 million VND.
At the police station, Tran Van Canh said that he stole the above property at a wedding at the Festival Palace.

Canh confessed that at around 11am on July 22, he passed by the Festival Palace and saw a wedding taking place, so he had the idea of stealing. Canh adjusted his clothes, pretended to be a guest, and entered the hall.
While eating, Canh observed every action of the bride and groom. When he saw the bride put her jewelry and money into the handbag she was carrying behind her back, Canh approached her toasting her, then quickly snatched the handbag and ran away but was caught soon after.
Canh is a subject with 7 previous convictions for theft of property.
