Export rice price 9/24/2024
Vietnam's rice export prices are high, with 100% broken rice priced at $455 per ton, 5% standard rice at $567 per ton, and 25% broken rice at $537 per ton, according to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA).
Vietnam's rice industry is receiving attention and support from many agencies such as the Government, ministries and banks, helping to improve policies and finance, supporting production and export.
Despite support, rice exporting enterprises still face challenges, especially in accessing credit capital, affecting their ability to purchase rice, especially during the main crop season.
The cooperative system and the merchant force play an important role in the rice supply chain, from understanding rice varieties to drying and milling standards. Rice exporting enterprises cannot perform some tasks due to human and financial constraints, so supporting the merchant force is necessary to maintain the supply chain.
It is expected that in 2025, the Mekong Delta region will cultivate rice on an area of about 3.828 million hectares. The rice yield is expected to reach 63.15 quintals/ha, with an estimated total output of 24.173 million tons, an increase of nearly 40,000 tons compared to 2024.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nam, Chairman of the Vietnam Food Association, requested the Department of Crop Production to provide detailed information on rice varieties to be planted and harvest schedules earlier. The purpose is to support relevant organizations in considering supply and demand, managing exports in a timely manner and conducting appropriate trade activities. This will help businesses plan their business more appropriately and effectively in the future.
