The rice market situation in the Mekong Delta today has few sellers and stable prices. There are not many transactions and purchases have decreased due to the upcoming National Day holiday on September 2.

IR 504 Summer-Autumn rice raw material price is from 11,450 - 11,600 VND/kg, up 50 - 100 VND. IR 504 finished rice price is from 13,450 - 13,550 VND/kg, up 50 VND.
Rice prices at retail markets remain unchanged: Nang Nhen rice costs 28,000 VND/kg.
Jasmine rice costs from 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg.
Nang Hoa rice costs 20,000 VND/kg.

According to the latest information from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, today's rice prices are as follows:
IR 50404 rice costs from 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg.
Fragrant Dai 8 rice: 8,600 - 8,800 VND/kg, up 200 VND compared to yesterday.
OM 5451 rice price from 8,200 - 8,400 VND/kg.
OM 18 rice costs from 8,600 - 8,800 VND/kg. OM 380 costs from 7,600 - 7,800 VND/kg.
Japanese rice price from 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg.
Nang Nhen rice (dried price from 20,000 VND/kg.
Today's rice prices showed a slight increase compared to yesterday, with the most notable increase being VND200/kg for Dai Thom 8 rice.
By-product price today 8/28/2024
The glutinous rice market remained unchanged from yesterday. IR 4625 glutinous rice remained at VND7,400 to VND7,600 per kg. An Giang glutinous rice was priced at VND7,000 to VND7,200 per kg.
Rice by-product prices have slightly adjusted today. The price of broken rice OM 5451 remains stable at 9,400 to 9,500 VND per kg.
The price of dry bran has slightly decreased, currently from 7,000 to 7,150 VND per kg, down about 50 to 100 VND compared to yesterday.
Rice export price today
Vietnam's rice export prices have slightly adjusted compared to yesterday. 100% broken rice is now priced at $440/ton, while 5% broken rice has increased slightly to $579/ton. 25% broken rice has also increased in price, reaching $547/ton.
Currently, Vietnam's 5% broken rice has the highest price in the world, surpassing Thailand and Pakistan.
In 2023, Vietnam exported 8 million tons of rice, earning 4.6 billion USD, marking a new record. The price of Vietnamese rice once reached a peak of 663 USD/ton, leading the rice exporting countries.
In some international markets, the price of Vietnamese rice is very high, for example in Brunei it is 959 USD/ton, in the US it is 868 USD/ton.
At the end of last year, rice export prices to Germany and Japan were $1,800/ton and $1,200/ton, respectively.
Vietnamese rice was once considered low quality and cheap, but now prices have increased significantly due to improved quality, even surpassing Thai rice.
