Agricultural product prices today, August 5: Pepper and coffee prices both increased slightly again; Chi Lang custard apples entered the harvest season; Thai durian decreased slightly; soursop prices decreased, rambutan prices increased sharply compared to last month.
Pepper price today August 5, 2024
In the Southeast region, pepper prices increased slightly, with an increase of 500 to 1,000 VND/kg. Pepper prices today, August 5, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Dong Nai, the highest price is 148,000 VND/kg.
Pepper price in Dak Lak is currently 147,500 VND/kg, an increase of 500 VND compared to yesterday.
Dak Nong recorded a price increase of VND1,000/kg, bringing pepper prices to VND147,000/kg.
Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Dong Nai also increased prices by 1,000 VND/kg, maintaining the price at 148,000 VND/kg.

In the international market, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at USD 7,176/ton and the price of Muntok white pepper at USD 8,793/ton.
Brazil and Malaysia also announced ASTA black pepper prices at USD 6,750/ton and USD 8,500/ton respectively, while Malaysia's ASTA white pepper price reached USD 10,400/ton.
Vietnam kept black pepper prices high, at $6,000/tonne for 500g/l and $6,600/tonne for 550g/l, along with white pepper prices at $8,800/tonne.

The domestic coffee market today increased slightly by 100 VND/kg compared to the same time yesterday. The current average price is around 123,000 VND/kg in the Central Highlands provinces, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong province is 123,100 VND/kg.

On the last session of the week of August 4, coffee prices on both exchanges increased after a series of consecutive declines in the past few days. The USD fell sharply, hitting a 4-month low, helping Arabica recover, thanks to which Robusta on the London exchange also increased slightly.
Specifically, the price of Robusta coffee on the London exchange for delivery in September 2024 is 4,227 USD/ton. The price of Arabica coffee on the New York exchange for delivery in September 2024 is 230.50 cents/lb.

Rubber prices today, July 5, on the two world exchanges, Tokyo and Shanghai, both increased slightly. At the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM), the rubber futures price for August 2024 delivery increased by 0.31% to 325 yen/kg.

On the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE), RSS3 rubber futures for September 2024 delivery rose 0.07% to 14,355 yuan/ton.

Durian price today August 5
The Southwest and Southeast regions recorded the highest durian prices, while the Central Highlands had the lowest prices.
The price of durian at the garden is usually 3,000 - 5,000 VND/kg lower than the price at the purchasing points, depending on the purchasing method of the trader.

Durian prices in the Southwest region today decreased compared to yesterday, with Thai durian prices dropping significantly. High-quality Ri6 durian is traded at 62,000 - 65,000 VND/kg, while the bucket type is priced at 52,000 - 55,000 VND/kg. Beautiful Thai durian is priced at 82,000 - 85,000 VND/kg, and the bucket type is priced at 62,000 - 65,000 VND/kg, continuing to decrease compared to the previous session.
In the Southeast region, durian prices also decreased slightly, with Ri6 beautiful at 60,000 - 62,000 VND/kg and Ri6 bucket at 50,000 - 55,000 VND/kg. Thai durian beautiful and bucket in the Southeast region maintained prices of 82,000 - 85,000 VND/kg and 62,000 - 65,000 VND/kg respectively.
The price of beautiful Ri6 durian in the Central Highlands is around 58,000 - 60,000 VND/kg, and Ri6 in buckets is from 50,000 - 52,000 VND/kg. Beautiful Thai durian and bucket in the Central Highlands are priced at 80,000 - 85,000 VND/kg and 60,000 - 62,000 VND/kg, respectively.
Soursop price on August 5
In recent months, the retail price of soursop in provinces in the Mekong Delta has seen a decrease of VND5,000 to VND10,000 per kilogram compared to more than a month ago.
Local farmers are selling soursop fruit for 14,000 to 15,000 VND/kg right in the garden to traders.

The price of grade 1 soursop, which meets export standards, is purchased by businesses and fruit stores at 20,000 VND/kg, 20,000 VND/kg lower than at the beginning of the year.
Rambutan price today 8/5
As the main harvest season comes to an end, the drop in supply has pushed up rambutan prices in the Mekong Delta and neighboring provinces by VND5,000-10,000 per kilogram, reaching a high in recent months. Farmers are selling Thai rambutan and longan rambutan for VND28,000-32,000 per kilogram, while Java rambutan is priced at VND12,000-15,000 per kilogram to traders and purchasing points.

The current retail price of longan and Thai rambutan is VND55,000-60,000/kg, and Java rambutan is sold for VND30,000/kg at markets and fruit stores, double the price in May 2024, the peak harvest time.
Price of Hung Yen specialty longan on August 5, 2024
Currently, gardeners and cooperatives in Hung Yen are in the longan harvest stage, with many specialty longan varieties such as ancient longan, veined longan, and rock sugar longan being enthusiastically received by the market.

Local farmers have harvested 600kg of longan, mostly for gifts, with daily orders of 200-300kg and selling prices ranging from 70,000-80,000 VND/kg. The harvest is expected to be completed in about a week.
Other growers are also working hard to prepare the necessary number of labels to supply to customers.
Hung Yen currently has about 5,000 hectares of longan trees, of which 1,000 hectares are old-flesh and rock sugar longan varieties. These longan varieties are mainly grown in Hung Yen city and the districts of An Thi, Kim Dong, Tien Lu, and Khoai Chau.
