Pi Network Price Today
Pi price on OKX exchange on March 5, 2025 is fluctuating around the price from 1.63 USD to 1.86 USD (equivalent to 41,600 VND to 47,600 VND.
Pi price is currently fluctuating slightly while the cryptocurrency market is showing signs of a sharp decline. Bitcoin (BTC) has fallen from $95,000 to $82,752, erasing all of its previous gains. This is mainly due to the news that President Donald Trump is creating a national cryptocurrency reserve fund, including BTC, ETH, XRP, SOL, and ADA.
Ethereum (ETH) was not immune to the downward trend, falling from $2,550 to $2,018, equivalent to a 17% decrease within 24 hours. Most other cryptocurrencies (altcoins) also fell by more than 15%. In just one day, the total cryptocurrency market capitalization fell by 15%, to $2.8 trillion, approaching its lowest level since November 2021.

When does the free Pi mining period end?
The Pi Network mining speed is not fixed but varies depending on many factors. The Pi Network development team has applied a mechanism to gradually reduce the mining speed as the number of users participating in the network increases. This is to create scarcity and protect the value of Pi over time.
As of March 4, 2025, the Pi Network app shows a base mining speed of only 0.0029 Pi/hour. At this rate, it would take a miner more than 340 hours (more than 14 days) to mine 1 Pi. This is a significant decrease compared to previous years.
When Pi Network launched in 2019, the initial mining rate was 0.8 Pi/hour. By 2020, this number dropped to 0.4 Pi/hour, then further dropped to 0.2 Pi/hour in 2021. By 2022, the rate dropped to 0.1 Pi/hour, and in 2024-2025, this number dropped below 0.01 Pi/hour, changing dynamically based on the number of participants.
From the beginning, the Pi Core Team confirmed that Pi Network does not operate on the same mining mechanism as traditional cryptocurrencies. Users just need to open the application and press the mining button every 24 hours without the need for specialized mining equipment.
Many people are wondering whether there will come a time when free Pi mining will stop. According to the development roadmap, the total Pi supply is limited to 100 billion Pi coins. Of which, 65 billion Pi are used as mining rewards, 10 billion Pi are for ecosystem development, 5 billion Pi are for liquidity reserve, and 20 billion Pi belong to the development team to maintain and improve the system.
Pi mining will continue until all 65 billion Pi rewards have been distributed. As of March 2, 2025, Pi Network has recorded over 10 billion Pi coins mined, of which approximately 6.3 billion Pi coins are in circulation within the community.
