Pepper price today February 17, 2025: Increased for the second consecutive week
Today's domestic pepper price on February 17 is at 157,000 - 160,000 VND/kg. Domestic pepper prices still increased by 1,000 to 2,000 VND/kg compared to last week. Vietnam's pepper exports in 2025 will have many advantages.
Domestic pepper prices today
The highest pepper purchase price in key pepper growing regions (Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc) was recorded at 160,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, in Dak Nong province, pepper price is at 160,000 VND/kg. Unchanged compared to yesterday.
In Gia Lai, pepper price is 157,000 VND/kg. Unchanged compared to yesterday.
In Dak Lak, pepper price is 160,000 VND/kg. Unchanged compared to yesterday.
In Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai, pepper price today is at 157,000 VND/kg. Unchanged compared to yesterday.
In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, pepper price today is at 158,000 VND/kg. No change compared to yesterday.
Thus, today's pepper price in the domestic market is currently at its lowest price of 157,000 VND/kg.

Domestic pepper prices fluctuated strongly last week, skyrocketing to VND6,000/kg in the middle of the week, but then falling to VND160,000/kg at the end of the week.
However, at the end of last week, pepper prices increased by 1,000 to 2,000 VND/kg compared to the previous week and recorded the second consecutive week of price increase after the Lunar New Year.
Of which, pepper price in Dak Lak province increased the most by 2,000 VND/kg, other localities increased by 1,000 VND/kg. Only pepper price in Binh Phuoc remained unchanged compared to last week.
According to experts, domestic pepper prices have increased sharply due to high consumption demand while our pepper supply and inventory are limited. Meanwhile, the harvest season is delayed by about a month due to changes in the weather.
Vietnam's pepper exports in 2025 will have many advantages, and prices will continue to remain high while output in some places decreases.
World pepper prices today
In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) updated the prices of all types of pepper traded in the international market on February 17 (local time) as follows:
Indonesia's Lampung black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at USD 7,251/ton. Meanwhile, Muntok white pepper price also remained unchanged from yesterday at USD 10,068/ton.
Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged from yesterday at USD 6,700/mt.
Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price is stable compared to yesterday at USD 9,000/ton. In addition, the country’s ASTA white pepper price is also stable compared to yesterday at USD 11,600/ton.
Prices of all types of Vietnamese pepper remained stable compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l reached 6,500 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,650 USD/ton.
Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at 9,550 USD/ton.
At the end of last week, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper up slightly by 0.2% compared to the previous week. Notably, the price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper increased sharply by 4.6% (300 USD/ton) last week.
The International Pepper Community (IPC) forecasts that global pepper production in 2025 will continue to decline, especially in Vietnam and Brazil – the two largest pepper exporting countries in the world. The community estimates that world pepper production will decrease by about 4%, equivalent to 22,000 tons. IPC assesses that this decline in production could push pepper prices on the world market up this year.
