Today's domestic pepper price on January 26 is at 147,000 - 148,200 VND/kg. Slightly increased by 200 VND/kg in Dak Nong and Dak Lak. Pepper price is forecasted to remain high in 2025.

The highest pepper purchase price in key pepper growing areas (Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc) was recorded at 148,200 VND/kg.
Specifically, in Dak Nong province, pepper price is at 148,200 VND/kg. A slight increase of 200 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In Gia Lai, pepper price is 147,500 VND/kg. Unchanged compared to yesterday.
In Dak Lak, pepper price is 148,200 VND/kg. Slightly increased 200 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai, pepper price today is at 147,000 VND/kg. Unchanged compared to yesterday.
In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, pepper price today is at 147,000 VND/kg. Unchanged compared to yesterday.
Thus, today's pepper price in the domestic market is currently at its lowest price of 147,000 VND/kg.

The market officially enters the Lunar New Year holiday which will last until the end of next week. In the context of pepper prices remaining high, the Vietnamese pepper industry needs to focus on increasing deep processing, investing in technology for processing white pepper, ground pepper and value-added products to meet the diverse needs of the international market.
Besides, take advantage of free trade agreements (FTAs) to increase exports to potential markets such as Japan, Korea and the Middle East.
In addition, it is necessary to ensure quality, strictly comply with food safety standards and control pesticide residues, especially for demanding markets like the EU.
World pepper price today
In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Community (IPC) has updated the prices of pepper of all types traded in the international market on January 26 (local time) as follows:
Indonesia's Lampung black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $7,157/ton. In addition, Muntok white pepper price also increased sharply from yesterday at $9,456/ton.
Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price increased slightly compared to yesterday at 6,150 USD/ton (up 0.81%).
Malaysia's ASTA black pepper price is stable compared to yesterday at 9,000 USD/ton. In addition, the country's ASTA white pepper price is also stable compared to yesterday at 11,600 USD/ton.
Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l reached 6,350 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,650 USD/ton.
Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,550/ton.
The International Pepper Community believes that in 2024, Brazil will be the country with the highest decrease in pepper production, about 29%, equivalent to 28,000 tons, from 98,000 tons to 70,000 tons due to the impact of climate change, especially drought leading to lack of irrigation water. However, IPC predicts that the situation will be more positive in 2025 if the climate and weather conditions are favorable.
According to Comexstat, in 2024, Brazil exported 61,665 tons of pepper, with an export turnover of 286.1 million USD. Compared to 2023, the export volume decreased sharply by 23.6% (19,037 tons) while the turnover increased by 13.4%. The UAE is Brazil's largest pepper export market, accounting for 13.3% and increasing by 7.1% compared to 2023, reaching 8,179 tons. Vietnam ranked second, accounting for 12.3%, but Brazil's export volume to Vietnam decreased by 54.5% to 7,556 tons. Pakistan ranked next, reaching 6,572 tons, up 4.4%.
