Domestic gold price this afternoon January 15, 2025

As of 3:00 p.m. on January 15, 2025, domestic gold prices increased again compared to yesterday's trading session.

At Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC), the price of gold bars was listed at VND84.6 million/tael (buy) and VND86.6 million/tael (sell). An increase of VND200,000/tael in both buying and selling directions compared to the closing price of yesterday's trading session.

DOJI system listed 9999 gold at buying price of 84.6 million VND/tael and selling price of 86.6 million VND/tael. This price increased by 200 thousand VND/tael in both buying and selling directions compared to yesterday.

At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, the buying price of SJC gold is 85.1 million VND/tael and the selling price is 86.1 million VND/tael. Thus, compared to yesterday's session, the buying price and selling price increased by 400 thousand VND/tael.

Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited listed the price of SJC gold at 84.6 million VND/tael (buy) and 86.6 million VND/tael (sell). This price increased by 200 thousand VND/tael in both buying and selling directions compared to yesterday.

The current buying price of SJC 9999 gold rings is 84.5 million VND/tael and the selling price is 86.1 million VND/tael. An increase of 100 thousand VND/tael for buying - unchanged for selling compared to the close of yesterday's trading session.

For Hung Thinh Vuong 9999 gold ring (DOJI), the buying price decreased to 84.8 million VND/tael and the selling price to 86.3 million VND/tael, an increase of 200 thousand VND per tael for both buying and selling compared to yesterday.

PNJ plain gold rings were bought at VND84.8 million/tael and sold at VND86.4 million/tael. The recorded increase was VND100,000/tael for buying - VND200,000/tael for selling.

World gold price this afternoon January 15, 2025

At 8:31 a.m. today (January 15, Vietnam time), the world spot gold price was at 2,672.3 USD/ounce, up 4.3 USD/ounce compared to last night. The price of gold futures for February 2025 on the Comex New York floor was at 2,689 USD/ounce.

On the morning of January 15, the world gold price converted to USD bank price was over 83.1 million VND/tael, including tax and fees, about 3.3 million VND/tael lower than the domestic gold price.

Next week, Donald Trump will be inaugurated as US President (January 20). Many predict that Trump’s protectionist policies could push inflation back up. This is a positive factor for gold.

World gold prices rebounded after falling sharply in the previous two sessions, from a one-month peak of $2,700/ounce to $2,655/ounce. Bottom-fishing demand and a cooling USD helped gold prices recover.

Gold also increased because the US announced a lower than expected producer price index (PPI).

Investors are now waiting for inflation reports, unemployment figures and US retail sales, which will be released this week. If the indicators are positive, the Fed will delay cutting interest rates, which is a negative factor for gold. On the contrary, gold may surge and conquer the threshold of 2,700 USD/ounce.

The December CPI, due to be released Wednesday evening (Vietnam time), is forecast to rise 2.9% year-on-year, up from 2.7% in November. The core CPI is estimated to have risen 3.3% year-on-year, unchanged from the previous month.
