As of 2:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025, domestic gold prices dropped sharply by VND 500,000/tael compared to the previous trading session.
At Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC), the price of gold bars is listed at VND83.5 million/tael (buy) and VND85 million/tael (sell). Compared to the previous session, the price decreased by VND500,000/tael in both directions. The difference between the buying and selling prices is currently at VND1.5 million/tael.
DOJI system listed 9999 gold at buying price of 83.5 million VND/tael and selling price of 85 million VND/tael. This price decreased by 500 thousand VND/tael in both buying and selling directions compared to yesterday.
At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, the buying price of SJC gold is 84.4 million VND/tael and the selling price is 85 million VND/tael. Thus, compared to the previous session, the buying price decreased by 400 thousand VND/tael and the selling price decreased by 500 thousand VND/tael.
Bao Tin Minh Chau Co., Ltd. and Bao Tin Manh Hai Co., Ltd. both listed SJC gold prices at VND83.7 million/tael (buy) and VND85 million/tael (sell). These two units decreased VND400,000/tael in buying price and VND500,000/tael in selling price compared to yesterday.
The current buying price of SJC 9999 gold rings is 83.5 million VND/tael and the selling price is 84.8 million VND/tael. Compared to the previous trading session, the price decreased by 500 thousand VND/tael in both directions.
For Hung Thinh Vuong 9999 gold ring (DOJI), the buying price decreased to 84.3 million VND/tael and the selling price decreased to 85.3 million VND/tael, down 250,000 VND and 200,000 VND per tael respectively compared to yesterday.
PNJ plain gold rings were bought at VND84.4 million/tael and sold at VND85 million/tael. The recorded decrease was stable for buying and VND500,000/tael for selling.

World gold price this afternoon January 6, 2025
This afternoon, the world gold price was adjusted down sharply. At 2:48 p.m. today (January 6, Vietnam time), the world spot gold price was at 2,625.6 USD/ounce, down 17.9 USD/ounce compared to early this morning.
Gold prices edged lower on Monday morning as investors awaited a slew of U.S. economic data due this week that could provide guidance on the Federal Reserve's interest rate stance.
President Trump is expected to take office on January 20, with tariffs and protectionist policies expected to boost inflation. This could further force the Fed to slow down in cutting interest rates and limit the rise in gold prices.
