Gold prices fell sharply at the end of the week
Gold priceDomestic gold today, April 14, 2024, decreased deeply by 2 million VND per tael in both buying and selling directions, world gold also decreased "dizzily" in the weekend session.
Survey at 5:00 a.m. on April 14, gold prices on the trading floors of some companies are as follows:

DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 80.60 million VND/tael for buying and 83.10 million VND/tael for selling.
At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, Mi Hong gold price and SJC gold price are at 81.30 - 82.80 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 80.80 - 82.90 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 80.60 - 82.90 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was at 2,343.29 USD/ounce. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is about 69.848 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 10.752 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
Gold briefly surpassed $2,410 an ounce on the week's close, marking a new record high and rising about 3.4% for the week, as strong safe-haven demand overshadowed concerns about the possibility of the US Federal Reserve (FED) delaying interest rate cuts.
Although gold could not maintain this record high immediately after that and reversed and plummeted to close this week's trading session at $2,343.29/ounce, experts still believe that gold is still at a high price range.
World USD exchange rate continues to accelerate
USD exchange rateDomestic prices on April 14 continued to be on par, while the world USD continued to accelerate and anchor high in the face of tense geopolitical situations.
The central VND/USD exchange rate announced by the State Bank today is adjusted to 24,082 VND/USD, an increase of 36 VND compared to the trading session on April 12.

Currently, the exchange rate allowed for trading by commercial banks ranges from 23,400 - 25,236 VND/USD. The US Dollar exchange rate has also been brought to the buying and selling range by the State Bank of Vietnam from 23,400 to 25,236 VND/USD.
In the world market, the Dollar Index, which measures the USD against 6 major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF), stopped at 106.01 points - up 0.69% compared to the transaction on April 12.
The US Dollar Index extended gains for a third session to end Friday at 106, its highest since early November, fueled by geopolitical tensions and expectations that the Fed will keep interest rates higher for longer.
Japanese Yen exchange rate maintains downward trend
The Japanese Yen exchange rate has not stopped falling today. Surveyed this morning at banks, specifically as follows:
At Vietcombank,The Japanese Yen buying rate is 158.21 VND/JPY and the selling rate is 167.45 VND/JPY, down 1.44 VND on the buying side and down 0.47 VND on the selling side.
At Vietinbank, the Yen exchange rate increased by 0.34 VND in both buying and selling directions, equivalent to 159.00 VND/JPY and 168.7 VND/JPY.

At BIDV Bank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.17 VND in buying and 0.18 VND in selling, reaching 158.86 VND/JPY and 167.33 VND/JPY, respectively.
At Agribank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate for buying and selling is 159.41 VND/JPY and 167.39 VND/JPY - down 0.23 VND for buying and down 0.25 VND for selling.
At Eximbank, the buying price increased by 0.03 VND and the selling price increased by 0.02 VND, respectively at 160.62 VND/JPY and 165.27 VND/JPY.
At Techcombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate increased by 0.19 VND at buying and 0.2 VND at selling with prices of 156.52 VND/JPY and 168.96 VND/JPY, respectively.
At Sacombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.24 VND in buying and decreased by 0.22 VND in selling, corresponding to the prices of 161.19 VND/JPY and 166.22 VND/JPY.
Domestic coffee prices are hitting a "peak"
PricecoffeeDomestic prices updated at 5:10 a.m. on April 14 continued to increase sharply, increasing by 1,600 VND/kg, setting a new record price of 110,600 VND/kg. Currently, the average purchase price in the Central Highlands provinces is 110,400 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong province is 110,600 VND/kg.

Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces is at 110,100 VND/kg.
The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at 109,700 VND/kg.
In Dak Lak province, coffee is purchased at a price of 110,400 VND to 110,500 VND/kg.
