The world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was 1,992.475 USD/ounce - a difference of 6,565 USD/ounce compared to the world gold price yesterday. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is about 58.22 million VND/tael. Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 11.43 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

Gold prices were mixed as the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported slowing job growth in October.

Economists expect October job growth to be slower than expected, partly due to a 30,000 strike by the United Auto Workers (UAW) union against Detroit’s “Big Three” automakers. This pushed the unemployment rate up to 3.9%, compared with expectations and the previous reading of 3.8%.

Analysts say oil prices are supported by the falling US dollar. On November 3, the DXY index - which measures the strength of the US dollar against six major currencies - fell to 105 points.

The weakening of the US dollar makes oil cheaper for traders using other currencies. This will support the recovery of oil prices due to increased demand from importing countries. In addition, oil prices increased due to concerns about shrinking supply.
