World gold price today September 5, 2024 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was 2,491.58 USD/ounce. Today's gold price decreased by 1.36 USD/ounce compared to yesterday's gold price. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (25,400 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 77.15 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 3.85 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

Gold prices have recently fallen below $2,500 an ounce, but long-term investors are still making money. Over the past six months, those who bought and held gold have made a profit of about $383 an ounce, equivalent to VND11.61 million per tael.
Experts from Goldman Sachs, a major US bank, believe that gold is currently a safe investment asset against inflation. They predict that by early 2025, the price of gold could increase to $2,700/ounce, equivalent to VND82 million/tael.
Central bank gold purchases have tripled since mid-2022 on concerns about US financial sanctions.
The upcoming interest rate cut by the US Federal Reserve (Fed) could see Western capital return to the gold market, supporting higher gold prices.
Geopolitical issues and US debt also contributed to the rise in gold prices.
Gold Price Forecast
The US dollar is near a two-week high. The stronger dollar reduces the appeal of gold to holders of other currencies.
Gold is unlikely to reach its all-time highs without fresh catalysts. If U.S. economic data weakens and the Federal Reserve cuts interest rates significantly, gold prices could rise, according to OANDA analyst Kelvin Wong.
Mr Wong also predicted that gold prices could reach $2,640 an ounce this year if the Fed begins a long-term rate-cutting cycle. Low interest rates reduce the cost of holding non-yielding gold.
