Gold prices plummet

Opening the morning trading session on July 21, SJC gold price plummeted following the downward trend of the world gold market, evaporating more than 270,000 VND/tael.

Specifically,at 8 o'clockOn the morning of July 21, DOJI Gold and Gemstone Group listed the price of SJC gold in Hanoi at 36.35 million VND/tael (buy) and 36.45 million VND/tael (sell). Compared to the same time yesterday, the price of SJC gold in Hanoi has "evaporated" 270,000 VND/tael.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon Jewelry Company listed the buying and selling price of SJC gold bars at 36.23 - 36.58 million VND/tael, down 240,000 VND/tael compared to the opening price of the previous session.

Domestic gold prices plummeted amid a gloomy global gold market, hitting a 3-week low as the US dollar rose in value amid expectations that the US Federal Reserve (FED) would raise interest rates and stocks rose in price.

At 7:00 a.m. this morning, Vietnam time, the spot gold price on Kitco stood at 1,312.3 USD/ounce, down 1.5% compared to the previous session's close.

Gold futures for August delivery fell $13, or 1 percent, to settle at $1,319.30 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. That was the lowest close since June 28.

Converted at the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, each tael of world gold currently costs about 35.1-35.2 million VND/tael (excluding taxes, fees...).
