At the opening of trading this morning, SJC gold prices in Ho Chi Minh City increased by 200,000 VND/ounce compared to yesterday's closing price, reaching 41.4-41.6 million VND/ounce.
The current world gold price is $1,472/oz in the Asian market. Converting this using the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank (20,965 VND/USD), the world gold price is approximately 37.18 million VND/ounce, which is 4.42 million VND/ounce lower than the SJC gold price.
At 6:00 AM on May 9th, the world gold price in Asia was $1,474.5 USD/oz, an increase of $21.5 USD compared to the previous day.
According to Kitco News, at the close of trading last night in the US market, the price of gold on the Comex exchange rose $24.2 to $1,473.0/oz for the June gold futures contract; while spot gold increased $21.5 to $1,474.5/oz.
As of 6:00 AM this morning, in the Asian market, the price of gold remains at $1,474.5 USD/oz. Converting this to Vietnamese Dong using the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank of 20,960 VND/USD, the world gold price is currently 37.23 million VND/ounce.
According to Kitco News, key factors influencing gold prices include: Yesterday's Chinese economic report showed a trade surplus of $18.2 billion in April, far exceeding expectations of $15.6 billion. Both imports and exports surpassed market expectations.
Asian stock markets were supported by this economic data from China. Additionally, the German industrial production data report showed better-than-expected figures for April, rising 1.2% compared to the expected 0.2% decline. These signals from China and Germany provided positive support for the commodities sector, including precious metals.
Earlier yesterday afternoon, gold prices in London closed at $1,468.0/oz, up from just $1,454.0/oz the previous day.
