Gold prices continue to fall sharply.

(Baonghean.vn) - Continuing the downward trend, on the evening of July 22nd, gold shops in Nghe An province all adjusted their prices downwards in line with the national market.

Specifically, at the Agribank North Central branch, the listed prices for SJC gold are 3,280,000 VND/ounce for buying and 3,320,000 VND/ounce for selling; 3A gold is 3,040,000 VND/ounce for buying and 3,155,000 VND/ounce for selling; and 9999 gold is 3,000,000 VND/ounce for buying and 3,155,000 VND/ounce for selling. At Kim Thanh Huy gold shop, the prices are 3,240,000 VND/ounce for buying and 3,360,000 VND/ounce for selling; and 999 gold is 2,920,000 VND/ounce for buying and 3,120,000 VND/ounce for selling. Kim Dung Thong gold shop listed 999 gold at 2,930,000 VND/ounce for buying and 3,130,000 VND/ounce for selling. SJC gold prices remained almost unchanged compared to January 21st, while 999 gold was listed by shops with a decrease of 20,000 VND/ounce for both buying and selling prices.

With falling gold prices and a sluggish market, gold shops in the province saw few customers, mostly inquiring about prices and trading 18K, 24K, and white gold jewelry. SJC gold bars and 999 gold were rarely purchased, only by those with genuine needs such as buying them as wedding gifts for their children or grandchildren. In the first six months of 2015, domestic gold price fluctuations closely followed global gold price fluctuations. In recent years, global gold prices have continuously fallen sharply, from $1,900/oz (August 2011) to only $1,103/oz on July 21, 2015.
