Domestic gold prices have stabilized.
While international gold prices rose by nearly $10 per ounce, domestic gold prices remained stable today (August 23) around 37.9 million VND per tael.
As of noon today, the listed price of SIC gold in Hanoi is 37.50 million VND/ounce for buying and 37.92 million VND/ounce for selling.
World gold prices traded on the New York market rose by $10 last night (August 22). Investors have turned to gold due to concerns about the possibility of the US Federal Reserve (FED) cutting back on its QE3 easing program at its September meeting.
Meanwhile, the US dollar in the unofficial market in Hanoi increased by 50 dong compared to yesterday morning. Currently, the USD is commonly traded at 21,180 dong for buying and 21,220 dong for selling. This morning, Vietcombank quoted the USD at 21,110 dong for buying and 21,190 dong for selling, an increase of 80 dong in the buying rate and 60 dong in the selling rate compared to the beginning of yesterday morning.
