Gasoline prices today September 5, 2025: Domestic prices increase simultaneously
Gasoline prices today, September 5: Domestic gasoline prices increased simultaneously in the adjustment period on the afternoon of September 4. World oil prices continued to decrease while waiting for the new decision of OPEC+.
World oil prices today
On the morning of September 5 (Vietnam time), Brent oil price decreased by 0.96% to 66.94 USD/barrel, while US WTI crude oil price decreased by 0.65% to 63.15 USD/barrel.
World oil prices continued to decline, after losing more than 2% the previous day. The downward pressure on prices came from the cautious sentiment of investors waiting for the meeting of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (OPEC +) this weekend. Many sources said that this group may consider increasing oil production.
Two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters that eight OPEC+ members will discuss the possibility of an additional production increase in October at a meeting on Sunday, suggesting the group's goal of regaining market share may take precedence over maintaining high oil prices.
A decision by OPEC+ to increase production would send a strong message about the strategy, according to one analyst. The group has agreed to increase production by 2.2 million barrels per day from April to September, plus an additional 300,000 barrels per day for the UAE.
The downward pressure also came from the not-so-positive macroeconomic data from the US. Figures showed that the number of job vacancies in the country in July fell to a 10-month low, in line with the downward trend of the labor market. This reinforced expectations that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will cut interest rates this month.
Meanwhile, the market is awaiting the US government’s crude oil inventory report, which is delayed by a day due to a holiday, to gauge the strength of demand from the world’s largest oil consumer. Data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) showed that US crude oil inventories rose by 622,000 barrels in the week ended August 29.

Domestic oil prices today
The Ministry of Industry and Trade adjusted the prices of petroleum products, effective from 3 p.m. yesterday, September 4. Accordingly, most key products increased slightly compared to the previous adjustment period.
Domestic retail prices of gasoline on September 5 are as follows:
- E5 RON 92 gasoline price increased by 80 VND, to 19,851 VND/liter.
- RON 95 gasoline price increased by 76 VND, to 20,439 VND/liter.
- Diesel oil increased the most with an increase of 116 VND, to 18,473 VND/liter.
- Kerosene price remained stable at 18,314 VND/liter.
- Fuel oil price increased by 116 VND to 15,376 VND/kg.
During this period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance decided not to set aside the Price Stabilization Fund for any petroleum products. The decision to adjust prices was made based on world price developments, the VND/USD exchange rate and current regulations.
The aim of this adjustment is to ensure that domestic prices most closely reflect world market fluctuations, maintain a reasonable difference between E5 and RON 95 gasoline to encourage consumers to use biofuels, and balance the interests of relevant parties.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade requires petroleum businesses to ensure adequate supply to the market and closely coordinate with authorities in inspection and supervision. Any violations will be strictly handled.
