Domestic fuel prices are once again allowed to be "adjusted".

Prices of gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and fuel oil may increase after 8 PM today (June 28), following the fuel price adjustment plan recently issued by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
If major fuel distributors adjust prices, this will be the second increase in domestic fuel prices within a month.
Specifically, according to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, world oil prices have fluctuated erratically in recent trading sessions, but the average over the past 30 days (from May 29, 2013 to June 27, 2013) remained high: RON 92 gasoline: 114.50 USD/barrel; 0.05S diesel: 118.84 USD/barrel; kerosene: 116.49 USD/barrel; 3.5S fuel oil: 622.42 USD/ton.
On the other hand, the price stabilization fund balance is running low, and import tax rates remain below the standard rate.
Therefore, the inter-ministerial committee allows petroleum businesses to continue using the price stabilization fund to limit the difference between the higher base price and the current selling price. The remaining difference allows businesses to increase domestic petroleum prices, with the following specific amounts:
- For gasoline: using the price stabilization fund of 300 VND/liter, businesses are allowed to adjust the selling price upwards by a maximum of 367 VND/liter for the remaining difference.
- For diesel fuel: using the price stabilization fund of 200 VND/liter, businesses are allowed to adjust the selling price upwards by a maximum of 370 VND/liter for the remaining difference.
- For kerosene: using the price stabilization fund of 200 VND/liter, businesses are allowed to adjust the selling price upwards by a maximum of 305 VND/liter for the remaining difference.
- For fuel oil: using the price stabilization fund of 100 VND/kg, businesses are allowed to adjust the selling price upwards by a maximum of 328 VND/kg for the remaining difference.
The adjustment to the use of the price stabilization fund was implemented at 8 PM on June 28, 2013. The timing of the adjustment of domestic gasoline and diesel prices was decided by the leading gasoline and diesel trading enterprises, but it could not be earlier than 8 PM on June 28, 2013.
If major petroleum businesses adjust prices, this will be the second increase in domestic fuel prices within a month. Previously, the prices of some petroleum products increased by 220 to 420 VND per liter, effective from 8 PM on June 14th.
Specifically, gasoline prices increased by 420 VND to 23,750 VND/liter, and diesel prices increased by 220 VND to 21,470 VND/liter. Kerosene and fuel oil prices remained unchanged at 21,300 VND/liter and 18,750 VND/liter respectively.
