From 3 PM this afternoon, the price of each liter of RON 92 gasoline will be sold at approximately 20,700 VND, an increase of 275 VND compared to the current price.

The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have just issued a decision allowing businesses to adjust retail gasoline prices starting this afternoon. Accordingly, the price of RON 92 gasoline will not exceed 20,711 VND per liter, while E5 gasoline will not exceed 20,381 VND per liter. This is the first gasoline price increase this month after remaining unchanged in the adjustment cycle on June 4th.

Thus, current gasoline prices are about 5,000 VND higher than the lowest point reached at the end of January.

According to the inter-ministerial committee, in the 15 days leading up to June 18th, the prices of refined petroleum products remained high, with RON 92 gasoline at $82.426 per barrel.

After calculating all taxes, fees, commissions, and profit margins in Vietnamese currency, the base price of RON 92 gasoline is 1,322 VND per liter higher than the retail price. The higher price for E5 gasoline is 1,157 VND.

To limit the increase in retail prices, the inter-ministerial committee stated that it has maintained the current level of contributions to the fuel price stabilization fund while increasing the fund's disbursement for RON 92 gasoline to 1,047 VND per liter and 882 VND for E5 gasoline.

Since the beginning of the year, gasoline prices have been adjusted five times, with two decreases and three consecutive increases. The most recent increase was a month ago, when gasoline prices rose by 1,200 VND to 20,430 VND (RON 92) per liter. Meanwhile, according to the latest adjustment on June 4th, diesel prices decreased slightly while gasoline prices remained unchanged.

Starting in early May, the environmental protection tax on gasoline increased from 1,000 VND to 3,000 VND per liter, and on diesel from 500 VND to 1,500 VND. Conversely, the regulatory agency reduced import taxes and pledged that the increase in environmental taxes would not affect retail prices.
