Rescue of 9-year-old girl held hostage by knife-wielding man
After nearly 4 hours of persuasion and distraction, the police force subdued the man and rescued the 9-year-old girl he had taken hostage with a knife.
On the morning of March 27, Bac Ninh Provincial Police said that the Criminal Police Department had just successfully rescued akidnap, hostage control in Phuong Mao ward, Que Vo town.
At about 4:00 a.m. the same day, the police of Phuong Mao ward, Que Vo town received a report from Mr. TTH (born in 1986, residing in Mao Doc quarter, Phuong Mao ward) that at about 2:00 a.m., a man about 40 years old riding a Dream motorbike with license plate 99E1-104.73 came to Mr. H's sandwich shop on National Highway 18.
The man, carrying two knives, rushed into the house and ran straight to the second floor. At that time, T. (9 years old, H.'s niece) was in the house. He immediately restrained T. and led the victim up to the roof.

After receiving the report from Phuong Mao Ward Police, the Bac Ninh Provincial Police Department directed and mobilized mobile police, criminal police, administrative police for social order management and police to the scene to deploy measures to rescue the child.
By using professional measures, at around 8am, the police had subdued the suspect and safely rescued the child. After being safe, H. was still in a state of panic and is being cared for by her family.
