Basket boat race to celebrate Quynh Beach tourism in 2015

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 30th, a coracle boat race took place at Quynh Nghia beach (Quynh Luu district). Five teams from five coastal communes in the area participated.

The coracle boat race is an annual competition organized by the people of the coastal area of ​​Quỳnh Lưu.

This year's coracle boat race features five participating teams from Tien Thuy, Quynh Nghia, Quynh Tho, Son Hai, and Quynh Long communes. Each team selects two male athletes to compete, sitting in a coracle boat and propelling it across the sea on a round trip of over 100 meters. The team that reaches the finish line fastest wins. The coracle boat race requires athletes to be skillful, strong, and experienced in predicting the boat's direction to propel it faster.

The coracle boat race on the sea received enthusiastic support from a large number of local people and tourists from all over.

At the end of the coracle boat race, the organizing committee awarded first and third prizes to the Quynh Long team; second prize went to the Quynh Tho team.

In addition to the activities mentioned above, this occasion at Quynh Nghia beach also features many cultural, artistic, and sports activities as part of the Quynh beach tourism opening program, which runs from April 28th to May 2nd. These include a lively event such as the Quynh Beach Beauty Contest (held on the evening of April 30th), competitions in beach football and volleyball, stick pushing, basket boat rocking, and a three-region food festival… all aimed at showcasing the beauty of Quynh Luu's land and people, highlighting its developing beach tourism potential and attracting more and more visitors to Quynh Luu, with its long coastline, stunning natural beaches, and delicious fresh seafood.
