Basket boat racing to welcome Quynh beach tourism in 2015

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 30, a basket boat race took place at Quynh Nghia beach (Quynh Luu). There were 5 teams from 5 coastal communes in the area participating.

The basket boat racing competition is organized annually by the people of Quynh Luu coastal area.

This year's basket boat race has 5 participating teams from Tien Thuy, Quynh Nghia, Quynh Tho, Son Hai and Quynh Long communes. Each team will select 2 male athletes to compete, each team will sit on the boat to shake the basket boat moving on the sea, the first and second leg is over 100 meters. The team that finishes fastest will win. The basket boat race requires athletes to be skillful, strong, and experienced in predicting the direction of the boat to shake the boat faster.

The basket boat race on the sea received enthusiastic support from many local people and tourists from all over.

At the end of the basket boat race, the Organizing Committee awarded the first and third prizes to Quynh Long team; the second prize went to Quynh Tho team.

In addition to the above activities, on this occasion, Quynh Nghia beach also has many cultural, artistic and sports activities in the Quynh beach tourism opening program, which will be extended from April 28 to May 2 with many exciting activities such as organizing the Quynh beach beauty contest (held on the evening of April 30), competing in football, beach volleyball, pushing sticks, shaking basket boats, 3-region culinary festival... to introduce to tourists inside and outside the district the beauty of the land and people of Quynh Luu with the potential of sea tourism that is on the rise to attract more and more tourists to Quynh Luu land with its long coastline and beautiful natural beaches, fresh seafood.
