Tomorrow (September 20), the Indian national team will fly to Vietnam to prepare for the Hung Thinh 2022 international friendly tournament. Notably, two pillars including Pritam Kotal and Subhasish Bose are both absent from the list.

This has surprised many leaders and former players of Indian football. Mr. Shyam Thapa - former Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Indian Football Federation, said: "There is not a single player from Bengal in the national team, that is the sad reality. Igor has full authority to select players for the team. His assistants are also responsible for informing if they see a good player. I do not know whether this process has been followed or not".
Not only Mr. Shyam Thapa, two famous former captains of the Indian national team, Bhaskar Gangopadhyay, even expressed anger at the list of 24 participating players. Bhaskar Gangopadhyay also expressed doubts about the ability of the Croatian coach and wanted this strategist to be fired.
Explaining the list to the media, coach Igor announced that Laxmikant Kattimani, Prabhsukhan Gill, Rahul Bheke, Suresh Singh and Rahim Ali could not play due to injury, but he did not explain why Pritam and Subhasish were not called up. This is creating pressure for the Croatian coach.
