Energy saving solutions in businesses and buildings

(Baonghean.vn) - The Department of Industry and Trade - Nghe An Energy Conservation Center has just organized a workshop on energy saving solutions in businesses and buildings in the province.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Huy Cuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade emphasized that energy is a rich and diverse resource, but energy is not endless, so using energy economically and efficiently is not only a problem of a locality or an individual, but a global problem.

According to the interpretations, in buildings, the electricity consumption components include air conditioning systems and auxiliary equipment (water pumps, fans), lighting systems, office equipment systems, elevator systems. The potential for energy savings in buildings is relatively large, about 10 - 40%.

Currently, many air conditioning equipment in use has old technology, low efficiency, and consumes a lot of electricity. The cold water and air duct systems have not been properly insulated, leading to large heat loss on the pipes. During use, some factors have not been given due attention, such as the temperature difference inside and outside the air-conditioned space, and the arrangement of cold rooms in direct contact with solar radiation.

At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing the following contents: Energy saving solutions in businesses and buildings, investment in projects using energy saving and efficiency according to the ESCO model in Vietnam; Complete solar energy solution.

Through the workshop, some energy saving solutions for businesses and buildings were proposed. Specifically, the hot water system: the use of local hot water heaters by using hot water supply centers using DO oil to supply hot water for the entire building. Using solar hot water heaters, which can be used directly or to heat the water supplied to the hot water heaters.

Regarding the lighting system, low-efficiency lighting systems (incandescent bulbs, fluorescent lamps with iron ballasts) should be replaced with energy-saving lighting equipment (energy-saving compact bulbs, electronic ballasts). Use solar-powered lighting...
