National Assembly Delegate Nguyen Huu Cau - Director of Nghe An Provincial Police Department said: "The more security guards there are, the more unstable the society will be, so the security guard subjects as stipulated in the bill are in line with current reality."
Discussing the recent draft Law on Security Guards, some National Assembly deputies proposed expanding the scope of protection, including the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Provincial Party Secretaries, Provincial Chairmen, etc. However, the agency examining this bill proposed to keep it as drafted.

Delegate Nguyen Huu Cau talks to the press in the hallway of the National Assembly. |
Speaking to the press on the sidelines of the National Assembly this morning (June 8) about the opinions of some National Assembly deputies requesting to expand the subjects of protection, Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau, National Assembly Deputy of Nghe An province, Director of Nghe An Provincial Police, said that at a certain stage, not needing anyone to protect is considered civilized.
Responding to the opinion that many provincial Secretaries and Chairmen also requested security guards, delegate Nguyen Huu Cau said: "I think that is not correct, because security guards are a very special measure to protect important people."
According to Mr. Cau, in the Law on Guards, there are 18 subjects that are guarded, and protection means protecting everything that has an emergency situation. "A comrade is not just a Chairman, Secretary or a journalist who goes to a dangerous area and needs to be protected. Now, like a reporter going to a dangerous area, if we do not take precautions and protect our comrades, how can we survive to work?"
Mr. Cau stated his opinion: "The more security guards there are, the more unstable the society will be. Therefore, the security objects as stipulated in the bill are correct with current reality. They cannot protect many people. Where is the strength to protect so many people? It's very expensive!"
According to Mr. Cau, perhaps at some point it should be reduced because society is becoming more civilized and safer./.
