A man believed to be the director of a security company in Tan Binh district, Ho Chi Minh City, pulled out a gun and pointed it at a woman's head before shooting into the air.

A clip posted on the internet late on December 5th captured an argument between a mother and her child on a motorbike and a large man in front of a coffee shop in Tan Binh district. The woman was shouting, claiming that the company the man was the director of had not paid her child's salary.

After confirming that he had a letter promising to pay the employee next month, the angry man cursed, pulled out a gun, loaded it, and pointed it at the woman.

"Shoot, shoot," the woman challenged. Immediately, the man pointed the gun to the sky and pulled the trigger three times, creating an explosion accompanied by a thin puff of smoke.

Speaking to reporters, a senior investigator from the Ministry of Public Security said that "the sound of the explosion and the shape of the gun were very similar to military weapons" and affirmed that the man's actions were illegal.

The leader of Tan Binh District Police said that he had directed many officers to verify the incident for handling. The man who fired the gun in the clip is said to be the director of a security company in the area.
