The director caused a stir when he took the whole company on a trip abroad.

The female director was named the best boss in the UK after paying all expenses for 19 other people to go to Madrid, Spain.

Arabella Lewis Smith, the director of marketing company Salad Creative, spent nearly $6,700 (about 150 million VND) for 19 employees to travel to Madrid for 4 days and 3 nights in early December. The amount included round-trip airfare from the UK to Spain, accommodation in a city-center apartment and two early Christmas cocktail parties in the evening, Metro reported.

The trip was a big hit with the staff, who last year were limited to exhibitions and dinner in West End restaurants. This year, they left on December 1 and toured the city before enjoying dinner and bar hopping. The next day, the whole company went sightseeing and shopping, before having dinner hosted by Mr. Smith.

“We were all so happy when we found out a few months ago,” said Fleurie, an employee at the company. “It was a memorable trip. My boss is so nice, it was the best thing she ever did.”

After the story was shared on social media, many people said they were jealous of the company's employees and wanted to work with a director like Smith.

Arabella, who founded the company 16 years ago, said she had always wanted to reward her employees with a trip abroad. “Going away with the staff is an important experience, it brings the whole team closer together,” she said.
