Director of Son La Department of Education and Training had his retirement decision revoked
One week after being removed from all Party positions, Mr. Hoang Tien Duc's retirement decision was revoked.
On June 26, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province revoked and canceled the retirement decision to enjoy social insurance benefits for Mr. Hoang Tien Duc, Director of the Department of Education and Training of the province. The decision was issued at the request of the Director of the Department of Home Affairs on June 24.
Previously, according to the decision dated March 28 of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province, Mr. Hoang Tien Duc will retire and receive pension from July 1.
Explaining the reason for canceling the decision, a leader of Son La province said that Mr. Duc had previously retired as Director of the Provincial Department of Education and Training, but after being removed from his position in the Party, the previous decision had to be canceled, waiting for a new decision to be issued.

On June 19, the Secretariat decided to remove Mr. Hoang Duc Tien from all Party positions, including: Member of the Party Executive Committee of Son La province for the 2015-2020 term; Member of the Party Executive Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Department of Education and Training of Son La province for the 2015-2020 term.
The Secretariat concluded that in the 2018 national high school exam, Mr. Hoang Tien Duc, in his position as Director of the Department of Education and Training of Son La province, Deputy Head of the Standing Steering Committee of the Exam, Chairman of the Exam Council, Head of the Exam Scoring Board of the province, directly advised the People's Committee of Son La province to establish an Exam Steering Committee with two members whose biological children took the exam, violating exam regulations.
Mr. Duc is also directly responsible for leading and directing the activities of the Steering Committee, the Examination Council, the Examination Board and the stages in the examination process; lack of inspection and supervision, allowing many officials to seriously violate the law, some of whom were prosecuted.
During the review process, the Director of the Son La Department of Education and Training admitted his violations and accepted the disciplinary measures. The authorities also reviewed and determined that Mr. Hoang Tien Duc's violations and shortcomings were "very serious, negatively affecting the reputation of the Party organization, local authorities, the education sector and individuals, causing outrage in society, to the point that strict disciplinary measures of the Party had to be applied."
In the 2018 national high school exam, Son La province had cheating on exam scores. It was not until March 2019 that the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Education and Training concluded their investigation and announced the assessment scores. As a result, 44 candidates with 95 multiple choice tests and two Literature tests had their assessment scores lower than the announced scores. The candidate with the highest score increase was 26.55 points, and the test with the highest score increase was 9.
On May 24, a representative of the People's Procuracy of Son La province said that according to the investigation conclusion of the 2018 high school exam cheating case, 8 people were proposed to be prosecuted for the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties" under Article 356 of the 2015 Penal Code.
At the end of May 2019, the Standing Committee of Son La Provincial Party Committee expelled Mr. Tran Xuan Yen, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, from the Party; the Inspection Committee of Son La Provincial Party Committee expelled 7 defendants involved in cheating in the 2018 national high school exam.
