Director of the Department of Planning and Investment was elected Chairman of the Vietnam - ASEAN Cooperation Development Association of Nghe An province.

On the morning of October 5, the Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia Economic Cooperation Development Association in Nghe An province held its 2nd congress for the 2019-2024 term. The Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia Economic Cooperation Development Association in Nghe An province was established in 2008 and started operating in 2009. After more than 10 years of operation, despite the economic difficulties in the region and the three countries, the Association has had a number of practical and meaningful activities. Along with the improvement of the apparatus, the Association has attracted 90 members, including members who are large business owners in the production and business areas in Laos.

During its term, the Association has had a number of professional activities to promote investment cooperation and exchange relations between the three countries, provide information to members; preside over and coordinate investment cooperation and environmental protection; participate in economic development cooperation activities; participate in related programs organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the province...

At the congress, delegates discussed the summary report of the association's work in the first term and the draft direction of activities in the second term 2019 - 2024, approved the amendment of the Association's Charter and the review report of the Association's Executive Committee for the 2009-2019 term; gave opinions on changing the association's name from the Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia Economic Cooperation Development Association to the Vietnam - ASEAN Economic Cooperation Development Association.

Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Councilhighly appreciated the efforts of the Association in the past time. He highly agreed with the draft report on the direction of activities in the new term of the Association, and at the same time suggested that the Association continue to innovate its working methods, have practical programs to contribute to the process of international integration, enhance exchanges, and attract investment in the province.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Nghe An province awarded a Banner to the Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia Economic Cooperation Development Association of Nghe An province and awarded Certificates of Merit to a number of collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements and contributions to the association's work.
