On the morning of July 2, speaking with Nghe An Newspaper, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, Director of Nghe An Department of Health said: Vinh City is the center of Nghe An Province and the North Central region. Applying social distancing according to Directive 16 in Vinh City is mandatory when many wards and communes simultaneously have Covid-19 cases.
"Applying social distancing is beneficial for epidemic prevention but also greatly affects the economic and social development and the lives of people in the province and neighboring areas. The health sector has received many messages and calls from people reflecting this and we are really concerned. Fortunately, in recent days, the number of cases in the community has decreased, only new cases are cases in quarantine areas. The Covid-19 epidemic in Nghe An in general and Vinh city in particular has begun to move in a direction that we can control", said Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh.
The head of the Nghe An health sector also informed that, with their responsibilities, the health sector and Vinh city will meet to discuss and agree and advise the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province to lift social isolation according to Directive 16 to switch to social distancing according to Directive 15 or lower as soon as possible. This depends on the local epidemic situation.
However, "isolating and blocking off a small area, a neighborhood, an alley or an apartment building at high risk of an epidemic must still be done on time and effectively...", Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh recommended.
Directives 15 and 16 can be lifted early or re-applied or not depending on the epidemic situation, especially people's awareness of epidemic prevention. All people need to strictly follow the Ministry of Health's 5K recommendations and local epidemic prevention regulations - Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh stated./.
