Monitoring the provision of health insurance-covered medical examination and treatment services at Thai An General Hospital.
(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of August 16th, the Provincial People's Council's monitoring team held a working session on health insurance-covered medical examination and treatment at Thai An General Hospital (Vinh City).
The report on the results of health insurance examinations and treatments allocated by the provincial Social Insurance agency at hospitals in 2011 showed 12,518 people, in 2012 it was 11,517, and in the first six months of 2013 it was 15,745 people, including those initially covered by health insurance in Doi Cung ward, Quang Trung ward, Cua Nam ward, Hung Chinh commune of Vinh City and agencies located in these four wards.

Overview of the working session
To ensure the rights of health insurance cardholders in medical examination and treatment and access to medical services, the hospital has publicly disclosed the prices of various technical services; advised health insurance cardholders on their entitlements; organized medical examination and treatment efficiently to avoid inconvenience for patients and improve the quality of medical care; and ensured maximum benefits for patients according to health insurance regulations when they receive medical treatment at the hospital.

The inspection team acknowledged the hospital's good performance in providing health insurance-covered medical examinations and treatments, ensuring healthcare for the people. They requested that the hospital publicly disclose the prices of medical services; address the misuse of some high-tech services; and ensure adherence to professional regulations in diagnosis and prescription to protect patients' rights. The inspection team responded to the hospital's recommendations within their authority and compiled the suggestions for submission to relevant ministries and agencies.
