Supervising fire prevention and fighting work at Nghe Tinh Petroleum Transport Joint Stock Company

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 21, the Provincial People's Council's monitoring delegation led by the Legal Committee worked and monitored fire prevention and fighting (PCCC) work at Nghe Tinh Petroleum Transport Joint Stock Company (PTS-NT).

In 2012-2013, in addition to complying with fire prevention and fighting regulations, the Company issued and trained fire prevention and fighting regulations, rules and measures at the unit; periodically conducted self-inspections and coordinated with interdisciplinary teams to inspect fire prevention and fighting safety. In addition, once or twice a year, the Company coordinated with the PC 66 Department of the Public Security of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces to provide professional training to issue and renew fire prevention and fighting certificates for staff; closely coordinated with organizations in launching the National Week on Labor Safety and Fire Prevention and Fighting, and paid attention to organizing the contest "Keeping vehicles well, driving safely".

The company has invested in fire prevention and fighting equipment to ensure that each store and tanker has basic fire prevention and fighting equipment; seriously trained and assessed fire prevention and fighting plans as well as equipment after repair, ensuring operating costs; promptly rewarded and strictly handled units that did not comply with fire prevention and fighting requirements... Thanks to that, despite the large area and high frequency of operation, the company has not had any fire incidents in 2 years.

However, the implementation of fire prevention and fighting also has some shortcomings such as: in Nghe An, many private stores have sprung up with the PTS Nghe Tinh brand name, causing confusion and affecting the reputation of the Company; fire prevention and fighting equipment must be imported, so the cost is high; the training time to issue and renew the fire prevention and fighting certificate for 1 year is too short; despite efforts, the investment cost for equipment is only 35-36 million/year, which is low; during the year, there are many inspection delegations, including overlapping content, causing difficulties for business operations...

Through supervision, the members of the delegation acknowledged the Company's efforts in implementing fire prevention and fighting; at the same time, they shared with the Company the limited investment conditions for this work.On behalf of the monitoring delegation, comrade Thai Thi An Chung, Deputy Head of the Legal Committee of the Provincial People's Council, received the Company's recommendations and compiled them for submission to the Provincial People's Council.
