Supervising the implementation of innovation in general education programs and textbooks in Quy Chau district

Implementing Resolution No. 88/2014/QH13 and Resolution No. 51/2017/QH14 of the National Assembly on innovation of general education programs and textbooks, Quy Chau district has seriously implemented the innovation of general education programs and textbooks, and the scale of the school network is planned in accordance with local conditions.

Facilities are gradually standardized, increasingly meeting the teaching needs of teachers and learning needs of students (the rate of solid classrooms is over 85%, 34/37 schools have been recognized as meeting national standards, of which 23/25 general education schools have met national standards).

According to the 2018 General Education Program, the primary school program is designed to teach 2 sessions/day (minimum 32 periods/week). The Department of Education has advised the District People's Committee to provide partial funding from the budget to organize 2 sessions/day in all primary schools. In particular,Tan Lac Town Primary School organizes enhanced teaching in various fields and mobilizes social resources according to Resolution 31/NQ-HĐND of the Provincial People's Council.

In the 2021-2022 school year, implementing the direction of the Department of Education and Training, the District People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to be responsible for checking and reviewing the minimum teaching equipment that can still be used in primary and secondary schools according to the regulations for grades 1, 2, and 6.

The number of computers used to teach computer science for grade 6 of junior high school according to the 2018 general education program in the district is 150 computers (provided and purchased by the Department of Education and Training from the annual budget).

During the year, the District People's Committee has allocated additional budget funds to purchase teaching equipment for schools in the district with a total cost of 2.3 billion VND.

However, in the district still encounteredsome shortcomingswhen organizing textbook selectionArts, Technology, Information Technology, Foreign Languages ​​bySome schools still lack specialized teachers.Must link with schools with specialized teachers to give comments and choose books.

Due to the difficult socio-economic conditions of the locality, especially in particularly difficult communes, the implementation of socialization of textbooks from the people's resources in the district is still very limited, mainly in the form of schools propagating to parents to transfer used books to students in the next grade. The teaching staff has not met both the quantity and subject structure requirements of the new general education program.

Some teachers have not implemented the new curriculum effectively, are still confused, and have limitations in implementing innovative teaching methods and organizing teaching in the direction of developing students' abilities and qualities, and have not used textbooks flexibly. Some students in particularly difficult areas have not yet formed some abilities such as: autonomy, self-study, creativity and problem solving...

Concluding the working session, comrade Thai Thi An Chung - Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation acknowledged that Quy Chau district has tried to overcome difficulties in lack of equipment, learning materials, and lack of teachers; some teachers have not been trained.timely training to implement the program according to the schedule set by the Ministry.

At the same time, it is recommended that the People's Committee of Quy Chau district strengthen the direction of implementing the innovation of new programs and textbooks; organize the selection of textbooks for all levels of education for the following school years objectively, ensuring proper processes and procedures; continue to review and evaluate the current situation, determine the needs of management staff, teachers and staff at each level of education and subject.

At the same time, the district needsBalance local budgets and have measures to socialize investment resources toEnsure facilities meet the requirements of the new curriculum and textbooks; proactively overcome some difficulties in terms of teaching staff, teaching equipment, etc. to effectively implement the general education program in the district./.
