Political science lecturers must innovate their teaching methods.

Speaking at the seminar, the Principal of the Provincial Political School, Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa, emphasized that, given the increasingly high level of student knowledge and the numerous channels through which information reaches students quickly, lecturers need to update their information to avoid becoming outdated and to ensure their lectures are always fresh and persuasive. Therefore, organizing a scientific seminar to supplement and update new knowledge in teaching the intermediate-level political and administrative theory program is extremely necessary.

The workshop focused on discussing key areas including: exchanging experiences and supplementing and updating new knowledge, perfecting the curriculum in the teaching of intermediate-level administrative theory; solutions to improve the effectiveness of supplementing and updating new knowledge; and difficulties and issues arising in supplementing and updating new knowledge in the field addressed by the workshop.

At the workshop, representatives from various departments and specialized units presented papers sharing experiences and contributing ideas to find solutions for improving the quality and innovating the content of lectures in the intermediate-level political and administrative theory program. In addition, delegates also had the opportunity to consult numerous documents, including dozens of papers and articles by leaders and lecturers from the departments and units of the Provincial Political School.

Accordingly, delegates argued that to effectively teach the political and administrative theory program, it is necessary to increase interaction with a wide range of audiences to understand and grasp new content and information; to closely adhere to the audience when selecting content to convey, as well as the Party's policies and resolutions, and new documents and materials issued by the Party and the State; and to increase the relevance to the practical realities of the local area…

In addition, the workshop also highlighted the difficulties and limitations encountered in the teaching process at the school, such as the fact that some textbooks and materials, although recently updated, still do not fully incorporate all the necessary knowledge.

From there, delegates proposed practical solutions to update new knowledge in teaching and innovate the content of political theory teaching, such as: in the information explosion of the digital age, it is necessary to select information to accurately update documents on new policies and guidelines of the Party and State related to specific localities; it is necessary to create an impression on students when conveying new knowledge through methods such as projecting documents, clips, news reports, and group discussions. Each lecturer also needs to continuously improve and learn knowledge related to their field of responsibility.

Regarding the subject of Party Building, delegates suggested that to update new content, it is necessary to strengthen coordination with localities, departments, and agencies where the school is located so that lecturers have access to accurate and timely information; and to sign a cooperation agreement between schools and academies with the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department to organize thematic information conferences relevant to the practical situation...

The delegates also proposed supplementing and amending some content in the current teaching curriculum to better suit the changing realities, increase accuracy, and promote innovation in order to improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning for both teachers and students.

The workshop affirmed that this is a practical and beneficial activity that helps lecturers improve their teaching skills and content; it serves as a basis for the school to soon have an increasingly complete set of intermediate-level political theory textbooks, enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the political and administrative theory teaching program, meeting the requirements of the assigned tasks.
