(Baonghean.vn) - The U22 Vietnam team has arrived in Korea for a 10-day training camp ahead of the 29th SEA Games. Here, Coach Huu Thang and his team will have two friendly matches with Mokpo City Club (August 5) and Busan Club (August 9). This is an opportunity for Coach Nguyen Huu Thang to finalize his squad and test his tactics before embarking on the gold medal campaign at the 29th SEA Games.

Before going to Korea for training, U22 Vietnam had a long preparation process. V-League 2017 was suspended so that players could concentrate from the beginning of July.

In addition to the recent U23 Asian qualifiers against East Timor, Macau and especially South Korea, Coach Huu Thang and his team continued to have a friendly match against the K.League Stars team and won 1-0.

However, coach Huu Thang still has problems to solve in this final training trip.

During the day, the weather at the Mokpo International Football Center (Korea) is quite hot, but much more pleasant than Hanoi. The field conditions here completely meet the technical requirements in the team's training sessions, so German fitness expert Martin Forkel has plenty of options for physical training exercises.

During the remaining time, Coach Huu Thang continued to practice tactics, practicing familiar content that had been practiced in the past time. The players were ordered to play small, with few touches, constantly maneuvering in a narrow space with high intensity combined with dividing the team to practice coordination pieces on the area of 1/2 of the field.

Coach Huu Thang himself also put on his shoes to demonstrate with his students. He always analyzes and corrects the team's mistakes when implementing the coaching staff's training plan.

upper hand

During the training trip, Coach Huu Thang and his players will compete with two clubs in Korea. First is Mokpo City FC, a team playing in the Korea National League, equivalent to the third division of Korea.

This is an average team, compared to U22 Vietnam, it is not a strong opponent, so we will use it as a "blue team" to test our playing style in preparation for the matches against U22 Cambodia, U22 Timor Leste and U22 Philippines.

Playing against Mokpo City FC, Coach Huu Thang will test the 4-4-2 formation with a pair of strong attacking central midfielders Xuan Truong and Tuan Anh, and the 2 strikers, in addition to Cong Phuong, Duc Chinh, Thanh Binh and Tuan Tai will also be tested.

In addition to the goalkeepers taking turns in goal, Duy Manh, Van Khanh and possibly Dong Trieu will be tested in the center-back position.

With the goal of 3 points for the first 3 matches, U22 Vietnam will prioritize testing the attack because Mokpo City FC is not too strong to give our defense a chance to try. If favorable, the players "near" the elimination list will also have a last chance to assert themselves.

difficult test

The next opponent of U22 Vietnam is Busan FC, who are playing in the Second Division, after K.League Classic. Busan is currently ranked 2nd in the K.League Challenge, which consists of all professional players. They are considered the ideal "blue team" for U22 Vietnam to have a final test before attending the 29th SEA Games.

Being rated as stronger than U22 Vietnam, Huu Thang has the opportunity to test the 4-1-4-1 attacking formation, testing the attack against U22 Thailand, U22 Indonesia. With these direct opponents, we have to attack to score goals, but also make sure not to concede goals, in other words, balance attack and defense.

Through the match with Busan FC, Coach Huu Thang will have the answer: Who will play with center back Tien Dung? Is Cong Phuong effective as a center forward? Should Cong Phuong even be kept on the bench?

Learning from the experience of the match with K.League Star, surely the coaching staff and coach Huu Thang will ask Busan FC players to play fiercely and within their abilities so that our players can get used to the mentality when facing Thailand and Indonesia.

The friendly matches before the 29th SEA Games are always of great importance to the U22 Vietnam players. In addition to allowing the players to show themselves before Coach Nguyen Huu Thang finalizes the list of 20 players competing at the 29th SEA Games, they also help us to identify our weaknesses one last time before entering the match.
